Leaving Africa’s Poorest Behind
As healthcare is becoming increasingly affordable for Africans, healthcare providers across the globe are taking advantage of the emerging market. And yet, this care is still inaccessible to the majority of the African population. Although the continent has been making progress in fighting diseases that impact mainly the poor, like HIV and malaria, and has a more positive story to tell than what the world has come to expect, it still continues to be devastated by outbreaks of diseases that have been eradicated elsewhere in the world. More has to be done to improve access to health systems across the African continent, these problems cannot be ignored.
